How to Choose PACS RIS Software in India

  • Integration: does it connect to your modalities over DICOM and to your HIS over HL7, without custom work for each device?
  • Deployment: can it run on cloud, on-premise or hybrid to match your data policy and internet reliability?
  • Regulatory status: is the vendor licensed in India (CDSCO) and certified to ISO 13485?
  • Reporting speed: does it include structured templates, dictation and AI assistance, and has it been validated on real deployments?
  • Scale and support: can it grow from one centre to multi-site and teleradiology, with local support in your time zone?
  • Viewer access: can radiologists and referring doctors open studies in a browser, on desktop and mobile, with no installation?

Ask any vendor, including us, to show these on your own studies. Request a demo and bring your own DICOM and HL7 test cases.

Frequently Asked Questions
About QuickRad PACS & RIS

What is PACS RIS software?

A PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) stores, retrieves and displays medical images such as CT, MRI and X-ray. A RIS (Radiology Information System) manages the radiology workflow around those images: orders, scheduling, worklists, reporting and billing. Together they run a radiology department.

Is Aikenist an Indian PACS RIS company?

Yes. Aikenist Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is based in Bengaluru, India. Its manufacturing is licensed in India under CDSCO MD-5 (licence MFG/MD/2024/000597), and it is ISO 13485:2016 certified. QuickRad, its PACS and RIS platform, is used by hospitals, diagnostic chains and imaging centres across India.

Does Aikenist PACS work with my existing modalities and HIS?

Yes. CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound and other DICOM-compatible devices send studies to the PACS over DICOM, through the lightweight Aiken Pusher agent. Aiken RIS receives orders from the hospital information system via HL7, and HL7 and API support provide interoperability with HIS and LIMS.

Can the PACS be deployed on cloud or on-premise?

Both, and a hybrid. QuickRad can be deployed on cloud, on on-premise edge servers or as a hybrid of the two, depending on your infrastructure, budget and compliance needs.

What reporting tools come with the PACS and RIS?

QuickRad includes structured report templates, speech-to-text dictation with radiology-tuned recognition, AI-assisted and generative-AI reporting, and one-click delivery. Aikenist states that QuickRad can reduce reporting time by up to 60%.

How many installations does Aikenist have?

Aikenist reports more than 1000 installations across 4 countries with live deployments.
